With only 10 players at the start of the game reffing decisions dominated the 2nd quarter with Bristol losing 2 players (Mel on 3 majors and Michelle wrapped).

The remaining eight platers pulled together and did their club proud - whilst the excluded players were forced to watch the game unfold from outside the pool area. The 2 excluded players were almost joined outside by the Leeds coach who recieved a warning and a yellow card from the referees in the final quarter.

Good defensive work from the girls and some fantatic saves from Vicki saw the Leeds score only increase from 5 goals in the last two quarters of the game.

A battle of the South West!

A slightly depleted team, Lou returning for work commitments and Emma to watch her daughter compete in the swimming club championships. Bristol (bottom of the league) took on Tisbury (top of the league) in a clean and well balanced game. Each team only recieving 3 majors a piece.

Again the Bristol girls team work shone through and Vicki had another stormer, blocking and saving many of Tisbury's shots on goal. The final score of 5-6 was close but well deserved.

Bristol got off to a good start with nearly a full squad and a win against Sheffield B, proving their right to a place in Division 2.

Vicki (in goal) was on fire with superb goal keeping skills with penalty saves in the 1st and 3rd quarters, which helped keep Bristol ahead of the opposition.

Fantastic teamwork led to Bristol scoring 10 goals - well done girls!

A game for the winning, and boy did we try!

Our defending is usually our strong point and sure enough, we proved this to be the case, some more than others, especially Sarah, who seemed to be a permanent fixture on the side of the Invicta players.

Perhaps Louise should learn that you can have too much of a good thing (i.e. there is such a thing as too close) and being sent out twice for swimming on a players back - was two majors too many! Refereeing was volatile, seeming to be baised in favour of Invicta, explaining the loss to some degree. Perhaps a more important factor was Bristol only had 8 players, one player was out on 3 majors for the last quarter, the lack of players may have made a larger contribution to the final score.

Mich played a stormer, with her top goal scoring game. A nice long shot for half way at the end of the match showed Invicta they may have won this time, but it's never over til the fat lady sings - watch out on 5th December!

Again truly magnificant swimming from Mel and Miranda meant we won all the swims for the ball. The final score did not reflect the quality of polo shown by Bristol who drew 3 of the 4 quarters, but just couldn't go all the way for a win.

A couple of goals from the pit, in a classic 3 movement down the right wing, straight in to the hole meant that we demonstrated that we did know what we were doing.

A sterling effort from a depleted Bristol side. A loopy lob from Louise, which surprised her team mates as much as the goalie by ending up bottom corner started the ball rolling.

Mel learnt the hard way that advice from the pool about referee skills is probably best left until the game is over, hence we were a player down for the last quarter.

Again the back door opened up for a beautiful pass from Deborah and we put another goal past the ex-GB goalie. This winning team combination of Louise and Deborah resulted in another goal, with Deborah scoring this time, with some unconventional marking from Manchester B in the pit (i.e. not marking at all!).

Our man-up practice came into its own when Rachel scored from 2 metres to add another goal toour ever increasing tally.

One again 4 out of 4 swim offs were won by our speedy swimming polo players.
