A very slow start against the weekends weakest competition meant just a 1 goal lead, despite 2 man-ups in the first quarter. The 2nd was marginally better as Central stretched the half time lead to 4-2, but the finishing was still poor. The 3rd quarter was far more controlled with Central shutting Penguin out and counter attacking to ease to a 7-2 lead at the 3/4 stage. The final quarter saw Penguin bereft of attacking opportunity and Centrals superior fitness showed in a 4-0 quarter to win the game 11-2. |

After trading goals in the 1st quarter, Central showed some form to stretch out to a 5-2 lead. The 2nd quarter began slowly, with Central conceding 2 goals to let Tyldesley back to just 1 down, however Central's class showed as they again returned the lead to 4 (8-4) at half time. During the 3rd quarter, Centrals superior fitness and finishing showed as they increased the lead to 14-7. The final quarter was scrappy and goals were traded to finish the game 17-10. Although a comprehensive win, the quality of Centrals play was not as high as they expect or as it will need to be against the better teams in the league. |

Central started very positively , goals from Sissons, Figes and Hutchins opened a 3-0 lead. Rotherham responded with a penalty to finish the quarter 3-1. The second quarter began with Central still in good form opening out to a 5-2 lead before conceding another penalty. However, Crayfish pulled off an outstanding save and Central countered and scored through Arocha to stretch the lead further. Rotherham pulled a couple of goals back towards the end to reach half time 6-4. The 3rd quarter proved very uneventful with both sides scoring a single goal during some much needed swimming practice. Rotherham seocred early in the 4th to leave the score 7-6, before Central stepped up a gear scoring 3 in 2 minutes to reach 10-6 and decide the game. The last minute was comfortably run out to finish off this top of the table clash. Although mostly controlling the game, Central still need to improve their discipline and finishing to realistically challenge for the league title. |

Bristol comfortably saw off a poor Poly side in the 1st 3 quarters before getting lazy and being punished by conceding 4 and only drawing the last quarter. However, the win meant a successful weekend overall and Nico leads the top scorers. |

1st division new boys Hucknall were handed a tough fixture list for the first weekend and they had a tough challenge against Bristol on Sunday morning. Bristol controlled the game from the start and won each quarter convincingly, although the overall performance was not sharp enough and the finishing still requires improvement. |

Bristol started well in their first National League fixture. Scoring 2 man-ups to go into a 3-0 lead. However, missed chances and sloppy defending allowed Manchester to get back to 3-2 at the end of the first quarter. The intensity was picked up in the second and Bristol eased out to a 6-3 lead at half time. The game was decided in the third quarter as Bristol finally got out of second gear and began to start playing some good polo. Goals were plentiful for all players bar Williams and Tamlyn as the quarter finished 7-3 with Bristol in a convincing position. The final quatter was seen out with Central running all plays and continuing to control the game. The all round performance was adequate for the 1st game of the season, but disappointing for the finishing, which will require improvement against stronger teams. |
